Reiki Healing as Taught By Mikao Usui
The teachings of Usui Reiki originated in Japan in the 1800s. After a 21-day fasting meditation on Mount Kurama, Mikao Usui received deep spiritual insights and with it, the ability to heal with his hands. Since then, the Reiki practice has been handed down through philosophical guidance and a ceremonial attunement process by Reiki Masters under Usui's lineage.
Becoming an Usui Reiki Practitioner
Today, Usui Reiki is usually taught in three stages plus a Reiki Master Teacher level:
Reiki 1st Degree: Hands-on healing for oneself and others
Reiki 2nd Degree: Distant healing; Using Reiki Symbols
Reiki 3rd Degree: Carry out a heart attunement for others; this is the first stage of becoming a Reiki Master
Reiki Master Teacher: Ability to teach and attune others

Developing your understanding and use of Reiki is a journey that is taken when the time is right. Honour your own pace, and when it is the right time to proceed to the next level, if at all, the training will also fall into place.
Personalized Reiki Training
Reiki is meant as a guide towards awakening, non-duality, oneness… the ultimate freedom from suffering. You are on a path to discover your True Self beyond the ego, and share your unique creative gifts. The guides you meet along the way will bring you the specific lessons you need at the right time.

Reiki training with me is conducted one-to-one, online or face-to-face, so that you can fully understand the crucial principles and practices that will help you invite health, happiness, and abundance into your life.
What does Reiki mean to me?
On my quest to understand healing and empowerment as a massage therapist and kundalini yoga teacher, Reiki provided me a cherished foundation for self-care and a more nuanced sensitivity to energy work. But that was simply the beginning.

At its core, the teachings and practices of Reiki are tools to help us remember that we are manifestations of the same sparks that formed everything in the universe. As energetic beings, it is in our nature to be able to harness forces beyond our physical body. So why aren't we all spontaneously self-healing alchemists?

Many of us had inevitably been conditioned as part of our learning and growing process. But while these mechanisms and societal conditioning like stress and time pressure help us to survive in the material world, they also block the natural flow of universal energy in us.
It is now time to loosen this armor and return to being an open channel. As we heal ourselves, we in turn become powerful healers as these energies flow freely through us.

Of course, easier said than done. While my own journey has been long and often painful, it has been profoundly rewarding, and I am grateful to have been guided by the wisdoms of Reiki day by day.

It is with great honour that I offer to share the teachings of Usui Reiki as they have so lovingly touched me.

May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may my thoughts, words, and actions contribute to that happiness and freedom for all.
"Reiki is love.
Love is wholeness.
Wholeness is balance.
Balance is well-being.
Well-being is freedom from disease."
- Mikao Usui
